Is a penny saved really a penny earned?
To answer the question... Yes... yes it is. Yesterday Colin finally got me to break my piggy bank of just quarters. I have had this little collection of quarters for about 7 years, maybe more. After counting all the coins we came to find that we had a total of 260 dollars in quarters. I didn't even imagine that was the amount of money in that small bank. All in all after we turned in all of my other coinage I was hording, we came to a grand total of 355 dollars. Colin firmly belives that saving money in that way should be used for "blowing" money. "blowing money" is that which should be spent on whatever junk you might want at the time... no so much NEED but something you WANT. Im the kind of person who would put it in savings but this time I let colin have his way. We bought a new printer, some movies and a microwave popcorn popper. And still have some left over that im not sure what im going to do with yet but we will see.

I think that is fun! It is good to get things that you want once in a while. :)
David is the same way, though my piggy bank had FAR less than money in it when we counted it up (I think we had $40 or something). He finally convinced me to use it on a nice date but most of the time I am all about the saving! :) Hope you two are doing well! Happy (belated) Fourth of July!
