Scuba In Cali

So Michelle and I went to Catalina this past weekend to go Scuba Diving. (5-8FEB2009) It just so happend that I had to do a 27 hour shift for the army on Tuseday. That ment that I got Wensday off and because the whole base had Monday off it ment that I only had a one day work week, Granted it was a 27 hour shift, it was still only one day. On thursday we flew out of Nashville, and had a four hour flight to LAX. From there we drove 20 min. sout to San Pedro. That is where the Sand Dollar (our boat/home for the trip) was anchored. We got to the sand dollar about 10pm and after a pretrip brefing we put out stuff in our bunk and went to bed for the night. the next morning while we slept(4am) the captin set sail to Catalina. it is about a 2 and a half hour trip to Catalina from San Pedro, so about 7 am when we woke up, we were there and it was time to dive, and dive we did, for the next 2 days we dove at several sites around Catalina. to include Seafan Gratto, and Eagle Reef. We saw all sorts of wildlife. We saw Seals, Octopus, Sea Urchins, Bat Rays, Lobster, and LOTS of fish. the water was really cold about 50 deg. We had to wear a 7mm wetsuit with hood gloves, and boots, but all the wild life that we saw made the cold worth it. It was alot more tireing then I thought it would be, but we had a blast. After two days it was time to go back to real life, but it was a wonderful trip. The night before we flew back to Nashville we stayed with Jene, (Michelle's maid of honor). The flight back was ok, but I was ready to get back to my own bed. All and all It was a great trip and I can't wait to go again.

So you got a boat all to yourselves? Fun! I'll bet you barely got out of the water. I love snorkeling. David and I will have to try scuba some day.
